Leon W. Ogden, 82, of Lititz, died April 26, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Idana, KS, he was the son of the late Frank G. and Edna Ogden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Ogden.
Leon served in the US Navy as a Seabee during the Korean War. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of Carpenters Local Union 214, Lebanon.
He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and sharing the items he made with those he loved. He and Leona were leatherworkers and made guitar straps, wallets, belts and handbags. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lititz and Lancaster Treasure Hunters Club.
Leon is survived by a brother, Lyle Ogden of Idaho Falls, ID and a sister, LaVerne, wife of Don Hetherington, Denver, CO.
Funeral Services for Leon will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 W. Orange St., Lititz, at 2 p.m., with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment with Military Honors will be in Machpelah Lutheran Cemetery, Lititz.
