      Last weekend, a disturbing photograph of a man openly carrying an AR-style rifle while shopping at Lancaster Central Market went viral with Lancaster friends on social media (“Mayor: Man allowed to carry gun and go maskless in market,” June 28 Sunday LNP | LancasterOnline).

        This is response to the protests and demonstrations against racial injustice. While I do support freedom of speech and peaceful protests regarding Black Lives Matter, I truly believe all lives matter and not all police officers are bad or racist. 

          I can hardly wait for upcoming editions of LNP | LancasterOnline that will undoubtedly carry apologetic letters from our congressperson and his party faithful in Harrisburg for their intemperate criticism of our governor. 

            As the School District of Lancaster reviews naming options for Edward Hand Middle School, I ask that it consider a local man who dedicated his career to the School District of Lancaster — Leon “Buddy” Glover. 

            Slowly, cautiously, churches in Lancaster County are opening their doors. Social distancing is the order of the day. Wearing masks is more variable.
